Draw-a-thon is a twenty-four hour, action-packed community art event. In activities led by local artists, both beginners and professionals of all ages explore a variety of techniques and materials. Draw-a-thon attracts participants from diverse communities across the region, learning and creating side by side.

Along with structured, scheduled events, Draw-a-thon creates an environment in which spontaneous collaboration and expression is encouraged, with materials and space provided for free-drawing. For example, the Drawing Room is completely covered in paper, a space where where families can draw together. Participants can attend for any length of time, from an hour to twenty-four hours.

Draw-a-thon generates constant artistic activity, promoting the possibilities of process and demonstrating that anyone can participate. By emphasizing process over product, Draw-a-thon encourages participants to continue with artistic endeavors on their own.

The event also includes periodic live music, food vendors, the amazing Draw-o-tron 3000, art performances, art games, stunts and shenanigans. Held annually in November at The Green Project, located in the St. Claude Arts District, Draw-a-thon also raises awareness for Recycle for the Arts.

Free and open to the public. All materials are provided.
