First, register with Audubon Action Center for training in wildlife oil rescue:

Also email the Gulf Restoration Network with your name, all contact info and what you're interested in and able to do:

Between all of this we will get info on training and volunteering opps. 

There's also these paid (barely) jobs doing cleanup, they need strong people who can devote 7 days a week for crap wages.  I think this is paid for through BP.  Scary because like all the migrant workers were exploited post-K, all the LA fishermen and women are going to get exploited now:
